Course Registration - Please Read all 4 Steps on this page

**Please note that you MUST sign into your course through CourseCompass immediately. If you are not signed in by the end of the first day of class, you will be dropped from the class to make room for adding students.

Steps to take to sign into your course:

1. Register for your class through SCC Admissions

Are you registered through SCC Admissions already? Continue with the steps below.

2. Buy Your Stuff

(Repeating the class? Click here).

Choose ONE of the following:

Buy a new book that comes with a free MyMathLab/CourseCompass Access code
Buy a used book that may or may not come with a free access code. If it does not have an access code, you'll need to purchase one separately.
Buy an access code from the SCC bookstore. Once you have access to MyMathLab/CourseCompass, you'll have access to a free online version of the textbook.
Buy an access code online with a credit card directly from MyMathLab/CourseCompass when you initially register. Again, you'll have access to a free online version of the textbook.

Notice that the physical textbook is not required. You'll do fine in the class without it if you're willing to deal with the inconvenience of the online textbook. This is the most popular option for students. If you need to repeat the class, you can get access again next semester for free. If you feel more comfortable having a physical copy of the textbook, please feel free to purchase it.

3. Register through CourseCompass

To begin, go to www.coursecompass.com and click on "Register" under "Students" on the right. You will have the option to purchase an access code there. The installation will take approximately 20 minutes to set up (if not less). If you have any problems with registration or installation (once you've logged in), please contact CourseCompass Tech Support immediately (24/7 support). The very bad news is that the new system is not compatible with Mac computers. However, you are welcome to use any of the many computers in the Math Study Hall (MaSH, in U-80) on campus at your convenience.

To register, you'll need an email address and the Course ID:
****PLEASE check the ticket number of the course that you registered for through the college before proceeding, especially if you're in an 80 class. If you use the wrong access code when registering through CourseCompass, it'll take you at least 30 minutes with their tech support to have the error corrected.

You may not have access to the course until the first day of class (or your orientation date). This is to ensure that I'm available by email in case you need assistance.

Please do not have the caps lock on while registering, and type your name as it usually appears with only the first letter of your first and last name capitalized (i.e., John Doe is good; NOT JOHN DOE or john doe, or joHn dOE, etc.)

4. Log In to Your Course

Go to http://coursecompass.com and click on "Log In" under "Students" on the right.

Once you're in, read the announcements in the midde of the page to see where to go next.

**If you have a firewall, you need to allow www.coursecompass.com, www.mathxl.com, and www.mymathlab.com
